Chances are you are like me... we know there's something wrong with our fast food culture. And if you're from America, you know it's even worse. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one out of every two American adults suffers from either heart disease, stroke, cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes, or arthritis. My Story? I was on medication for over 10 years until I took control of my health. I gave up the ol' bottle... pill bottle that is! You can get to know more about my story later.
One of the Coolest Things I Do
Helping people with wide-ranging dietary needs - respecting those needs different from my own. From vegan to paleo to those trying to get off SAD (standard American diet) to my friend Ross, who cannot have any sugar due to diabetes, gives me the opportunity to help people and develop recipes for their specific needs. Are you a raw vegan who cannot have soy, gluten, or peanuts? No problem! Many may know what to eat but struggle with how to eat it. That's where I come in with be deliciously healthy® recipes. Some Like it Raw
As a trained raw food chef (we're talking a TON of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and sprouts!), I share with people just how deliciously healthy fresh fruits and vegetables can be. While teaching classes in raw desserts, probiotics, and fermentation, I studied classical cuisine, working for over two years as a kitchen's assistant. A lot of washed dishes later, I continue to sharpen my craft of incorporating, what I call, the be deliciously healthy® cuisine and lifestyle into those traditional - and not always healthy - favorites. Personally, I eat a lot of raw foods, cooked whole foods, and minimal amounts of animal-based products, such as dairy cultures, wild fish, and organic, cage free eggs. With that said...
With the start of teaching clients in their homes, demo'ing at classes and groups, and speaking to young people at schools (brainwashing... I mean "educating" them starts early if one wants to make leafy greens cool). All this led to first publishing The Right Blend: Blender-only Raw Food Recipes and then Detox Delish: Your Guide to Clean Eating. The journey led to discovering what people really wanted...
People didn't need convincing that eating healthier was better. What they wanted was practical guidance in ingredient selection, easy-to-make recipes, and, of course, my be deliciously healthy® lifestyle of good tasting food and natural beauty tips, many of these dirt cheap beauty secrets come straight from my kitchen so get ready to save some money :D
