If you are new to my website and are wondering how to get started on your path to health and wholeness, I want to personally welcome you!  My first encouragement to you is:  "Don't start perfect.  Just start!"  Personally, I'm a work in progress.  I don't seek to eat perfectly (or anything else for that matter), but instead, seek to make healthier steps, bit by bit.

I don't share one specific diet or one way of living.  Your doctor or nutritionist can help you with that.  As a chef, I help people find solutions and one's success may look a lot different than someone else's. I love recipe development and finding ingredients that work with your personal goals, dietary needs, or food intolerances.

Use this section as a helpful guide.  When I started to take control of my health, I came across strange ingredients, such as flax, coconut oil, mung beans, hijiki, etc...  What resulted was a repertoire of ingredients and knowledge I used to share with others.   One of the easiest ways to get enough fruits and veggies on the go is using a blender - that's right, no cooking!  My first book, The Right Blend:  Blender-only Raw Food Recipes.  You may invest in a juice machine, food processor, and food dehydrator in the near future, but a blender is the best for starting out.

How can I get my water tested?

Health Research Institute Labs ( or 641-552-6258).  Water, pet and farm animal testing are $99 per sample.  Food and soil testing start at $275 per sample.

What kind of blender should I use?

If you are just getting started the best blender to use is the one you already have!  You don't need a commercial blender.  Here are some blenders that are different in prices.
